American standard gate valve
A gate valve features a closing element (gate disc) whose movement direction is perpendicular to the fluid flow. It is designed solely for fully open or fully closed operation and cannot be used for regulation or throttling. The sealing of a gate valve is achieved through contact between the valve seat and the gate disc. The sealing surfaces are often overlaid with wear-resistant metal materials, such as 1Cr13, STL6, or stainless steel, to enhance durability. Gate discs can be either rigid or flexible, categorizing gate valves into rigid gate valves and flexible gate valves accordingly. Common materials for gate valves include cast iron, cast steel, and stainless steel.
