A gate valve is a type of valve whose opening and closing component is a gate plate. The movement direction of the gate plate is perpendicular to the fluid flow direction. Gate valves can only be fully opened or fully closed and are not suitable for regulation or throttling. Sealing in a gate valve is achieved through contact between the valve seat and the gate plate. Typically, the sealing surfaces are overlaid with wear-resistant metal materials, such as 1Cr13, STL6, stainless steel, etc., via welding. Gate plates can be either rigid or flexible. Depending on the type of gate plate, gate valves are classified into rigid gate valves and flexible gate valves. Common materials include cast iron, cast steel, stainless steel, and others.
